Chad grew up in Coppell, TX . He graduated from Coppell High School in 2009 and was selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers and also offered a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Oklahoma. He chose Oklahoma. After an injury that sidelined him during his freshman year, he felt God leading him to quit baseball and pursue a call to ministry. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Erin, and they live in Coppell.

In September, 2017, he was called as the Lead Pastor of Gracepoint Church in Coppell. His greatest passion is his relationship with Jesus and making Jesus known to all he encounters.
