Coach Steve Smith grew up in Mississippi and began his college playing career at Mississippi College in both football and baseball. He then transferred to Baylor University and finished with a 1.72 ERA. He was drafted and played 4 seasons in the San Francisco Giants organization. Following his playing career, he started coaching. His 1st full-time coaching job was an an Assistant at Mississippi State. He then served as Head Baseball Coach at Baylor University for 21 years, where he won 744 games. His resume is full of many great accomplishments, some of which you will hear in this podcast.  He now serves as the Pitching Coach at Auburn University.

He is married to Melinda, and they have 2 adult sons, Ryan and Case. Ryan is currently an Asst Football coach at the collegiate level and Case serves as the Director of Recreation Ministries at FBC Woodway, in Waco, TX. Coach Smith is a strong man of God and has a powerful testimony.
